Pneumatic actuator

AUTOMA pneumatic quarter turn actuator is available in double acting and spring return configurations. The design of Scotch Yoke is intended for use with quarter-turn valves need to be controlled, requiring high torque and where a compact actuator design is needed. The Scotch Yoke principle is characterised by its high torque when required - at the beginning and end of each operation. This increase safety, expecially in aplications where a valve remain stationary throughout long periods. The design is compact and using about 30% less air than rack and pinion actuators

Electric actuator

An electric actuator is, essentially a geared motor. The motor can be of various voltages, and is the primary torque generating component. To prevent heat damage from overwork or excessive current draw, electric actuator motors are usually equipped with a thermal overload sensor embedded in the motor windings. This sensor is wired in series with the power source and opens the circuit if the motor overheats. The circuit closes again when the motor reaches a safe operating temperature. An electric motor consists of an armature, an electrical winding, and a gear train. When power is supplied to the winding, a magnetic field is generated causing the armature to rotate. The armature will rotate as long as there is power to the windings. When the power is cut, the motor stops. Standard end-of-travel limit switches, which are a necessity for an electric actuator,

Accessories

Pneumatic ball valves

Direct mount ball valves are standard with ISO5211 mounting pads, mounting holes measured in PCD (F03/F04/F05/F07/F10/F12) and square shaft (9mm/11mm/14mm/17mm/22mm). They are directly mounted onto pneumatic and electric actuators, without bracket and adaptors. Flanged ball valves standard with ISO5211 mounnting pad and cast SS304 bracket

Pneumatic butterfly valve

The "butterfly" is a metal disc mounted on a rod, connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. Unlike the ball valve, the disc is always present within the flow, therefore a pressure drop is always induced in the flow regardless of valve postition. A butterfly valve is from a family of valves like ball valves called "quarter-turn valves". When the valve is fully open, the disc is rotated a quarter turn so that it allows an almost unrestricted passage of the fluid. The valve may also be opened incrementally to throttle flow.
